RC PRO Caribbean round 1 east division, was held in Barranquitas one of the most beautiful towns, located in the Cordillera Central, the center of the Island,
The event was hosted by DROOPY HOBBY SHOP in Barranquitas RC Track a smooth fluid red clay track. Saturday morning schedule was delay by some morning showers but nothing to worried about, The qualifiers ran pretty smoothly but with very hard competition mostly in the new develop expert class.

The TQ honors were taken by :
Monster truck , Pedro Rivera
Racing Truck ,Nestor Santos
1/8 Int. and Arena Truck Int. ,Jeffrey Ramos
1/8 EXP ,Rafa Sabatier
Arena Truck EXP. Joel Ramos
Monster Truck

TQ Pedro Rivera broke the suspension of his REVO early in the race allowing Alexis Cordero in first place fallow closely by Hector Darius Colon in second and pushing very hard to catch him some were in the first quarter of the race Alexis make a mistake leaving an opening for Hector which of course he took and never look back leaving Alexis in second and Joselito in third.
Racing Truck
TQ Nestor Santos and Gury Lebron had a great battle for first after second place Edwin Colon broke giving room to Gury work his way up to second to challenge Nestor for first place which almost paid off when Gury took the lead mid way thru the race but Nestor fought back and five laps later he regain the lead and keeping it for good, Gury taking second and Pun Gonzalez third.

1/8 Int.
Jeffrey Ramos...the man to beat in the intermediate class and for sure a top contender in next year expert class make both TQ of the intermediate class but bad luck was on his side on this race having a ruff start leaving him dead last and Pedro Desakato took the lead until lap 32 that his car broke with Pedro Rivera really close behind taking advantage of the opportunity in a snap taking first, and with a comfortable lead over Jeffrey which had a couple of flame outs during the race getting second and Pedro Desakato struggles but get third!

Arena Truck Int.
Jeffrey Again with the TQ position but another broken car left him out of the podium with a fourth place, allowing KIKE MILLONES a local rookie to take first place, Gilbert Gonzales in second and Alba Alameda in third

1/8 Exp.
The most interesting of all the races of the day TQ Rafa Sabatier, took the early lead with Ab Pagan hunting him very closely with a couple of position swaps between them and Miguel Cotto right behind them third waiting for the mistake that give him the edge...and luck was on Miguel side Rafa had an electrical problem leave him out and without a chance, and one lap later Ab flame out!!! Giving miguel all the room he need it to wrap it up and take the first home, with Carlos Desakato in second and Edwin Colon in third.

Arena Truck Exp.
If 1/8 was the most interesting for sure this one was the most exiting! With the top three drivers in the same lap halve way to the race and a really good battle between Pedro and Rafa, bumper to bumper Pedro with no intention of letting pass Rafa and Joel really close behind them. But Pedro flips giving Rafa the door he was looking for, also Joel took advantage of the opportunity and close the gap enough to challenge for second witch he did and two laps latter he was in second but Rafa capitalize on the opportunity he get making the gap bigger and giving him room to breath cruising to take the win, Joel second and Pedro Third.

We had a great weekend, with excellent and fearsome races I want to take the opportunity to thank DROOPY for the great job putting everything together for us, all the driver and RC PRO STAFF, also I want to take the opportunity to thanks our sponsors :

La Sorpresa Hobby Shop, Corozo Racing Fuel, Wally Cycle, Inmecanix and DROOPY Hobby Shop

...Now I can wait for the next round that is also the first shootout between east and west !!!

The 1st Dominican Republic VS Puerto Rico event of 3. April 26th & 27th at the San German RC Track in San German, Puerto Rico. The next round will be in the Dominican Republic at Matua in Santo Domingo. This all leads up to the RC Pro Caribbean Finals in September.
Fresh off his sweep of the Monster Truck, Arena Truck and Buggy classes at the RC Pro Caribbean West Round 1 is 9 year old Carlos Sikora. He will be traveling to the Shootout race along with Francisco Ortiz the RC Pro Dominican Director/Kyosho sponsored driver and a group of Dominican racers to challenge last years Caribbean Champions on one of their premiere tracks. Rumors abound of several US racers making the trip as well but at this point nothing is confirmed on that and no definite names either.
Either way this should be one of the best races this year and the start to the Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic racers testing each other. This is also an open invitation to any other racers who can make it to this event.
